Presence and performativity in performance psychology

Exploring how frameworks and concepts relate to presence and authority. How our nervous systems react to nested levels of context, and how we can adapt to new roles and situations.

Dave from Big Picture Soccer Blog and I explore the meaning behind understanding concepts and frameworks that we learn in the performance psychology discipline and how they may be translated and ultimately impact the work we do with clients. This conversation encompasses the application of language with “pop-psychology” terms in performance spaces. We share our opinions on charlatans in the field, our own journeys to self-efficacy within the discipline, and what it may mean to be competent versus an expert.
